| Career Objectives: |
I am currently working in obtaining my law degree from UC Hastings College of the Law. I would like to focus on immigration law to one day be able to assist those immigrants from low socio-economic backgrounds with their legal issues. |
| Interest/Hobbies: |
I enjoy listening to music, dancing, reading books (although with law school case books are my only reading) and playing soccer. |
| Organizations/Clubs: |
La Raza Law Student Association
Sigma Delta Alpha Fraternity Inc. (Alumni) |
| Helping Myself & Helping Others: |
I am the first person in my immediate family and my extended family to pursue a law degree. As a result, learning to navigate the law school application process as well as learning the skills to succeed in law school has not been an easy task. My parents are farm workers and thus cannot help me financially. I have obtained loans to pay for my tuition and leaving expenses. Nevertheless, due to the high semester fees and living expenses in San Francisco, loans are not enough to cover all my expenses. I plan on working for nonprofit organizations and therefore obtaining a paid job at the moment is not an option. |
