Helping Myself & Helping Others:
Biography: My name is Amelia C. Hernandez. I am a Freshmen at California State University, Bakersfield. I am from a little town north of Bakersfield called Delano. I am 19 years old. My parents are field workers, and they have always told me that I need to go to college so I won't end up working in the fields as they do. I have an older sister which currently attends Bakersfield College. I have a lot of goals that I want to accomplish. I have always been interested in education, and that is what led to me wanting to be a teacher. Since my freshmen year in high school I started working, thanks to the migrant program. I was placed to work at a childcare and after working with kids I was motivated to become a teacher. I think any child has the right to an education. I currently work in the Walter Stiern Library, located on campus. I try to help my parents out with any money I can.
